You have been subscribed to a public bug: Up to Ubuntu 13.04, you could open gedit (or any other GTK-rendered input field), and press Ctrl+Shift+u to enter unicode mode:
An underlined "u" would appear, and you can type a number followed by space or enter to insert any unicode symbol. For example, "Ctrl+Shift+u, 2200, enter" would insert the unicde FORALL symbol (∀). In Ubuntu 13.10, the same still works, but the underlined "u" and inserted numbers are INVISIBLE, which is very confusing. ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment needs-reassignment saucy -- GTK Unicode input is broken (invisible) in Ubuntu 13.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
