I just checked, and the prior version of libspectre
(libspectre1_0.2.7-2ubuntu1_amd64.deb), located at:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/amd64/libspectre1/0.2.7-2ubuntu1

renders the eps files correctly.  Thus the bug was introduced in the
change from -ubuntu1 to -ubuntu1.1 as a result of trying to fix Bug
#1242678.
