This will have sideeffects on things which have a metainfo file - there are several of them which should be shown in a software center, be it for uninstallation or for being extended with addons in the SC. So you really want to not-hide stuff which has a metainfo file, or decide to ignore the issues this may cause (will definitely become a problem with more addons appearing).
