I don't have Cairo running in this install unless Variety Wallpaper Changer is based on Cairo. As for gdb, sorry never used it for debugging so I am at a complete loss on using it I don't think Bugzilla – Bug 91967 applies here.
As you can see by this screenshot http://imgur.com/a3QDJcg The taskbar at the bottom is nothing fancy. It is just a plain Flashback Metacity bar with Window and GTK+ set to HighContrast, Icons set to Humanity and the cursor set to Whiteglass. All fonts are standard for this desktop setting.
