Rhythmbox ver. 0.9.8-0ubuntu2. After a deeper investigation it seems to be badly broken. There are problems even in rhythmbox UI. It behaves strangely (both with the panel icon and UI) sometimes it works correctly, sometimes playing the song is resumed after a few seconds and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Running rhythmbox from console didn't reveal any errors but by running it with parameter -d I recorded some suspicious behavior. I enclose to screenshots showing the rhythmbox activity.
