You know... I thought things might have changed, if those working on the project don't like something, but can't get it changed, what hope do I have?? Why mark this bug as invalid if you agree that it's a problem.
Canonical's customers do not understand the shifting relationships between different components of the distribution, let alone what this new relationship with upstream gnome means... I have no idea where else to report such a thing. So, be it, I have reported it, Canonical doesn't care, end of story... just like almost every other bug I've ever reported.
