Curiously, I get no response from the snmp command, despite the fact 
that lpstat sees the hp1200

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lpstat -s

device for hp1200: lpd://192.168.1.2/lpt3
device for PSC-2175: hp:/usb/PSC_2170_Series?serial=MY366C90YY73
