Even opening archives with File Roller makes Nautilus 3.26.2 crash. So it cannot be a gedit problem.
I edited the title to reflect that. So all gnome apps make Nautilus crash (in fact opening the file makes Nautilus and the other program crash) while LibreOffice obviously doensn't. What makes opening a file with LibreOffice different. I wonder if reverting to 3.26.0 would be a good idea? It potentially resolves the problem and the stable branch doesn't add anything too interesting to Nautilus 3.26. If the problem persists another package update probably causes the problem.
