Unfortunately gnome-shell applies each setting on startup, we only changed what applying the setting means. Applying nothing at all is not an option, and not something we introduced.
I suggest you either: (a) Uninstall xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, so you're no longer using the patch code; or (b) You use the 'synclient' command to customize your preferences and apply them automatically at login via 'gnome-session-properties'. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762261 Title: Bug in Ubuntu patch for synaptics support prevents me configuring my touchpad same as previous Ubuntu releases To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1762261/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
