Public bug reported:

I'm using 17.10. Network manager, and openvpn also via network manager
and nm applet.

I'm connecting to my local network at the office (with standard access
to the internet). It uses DHCP. So far, so good.

When I connect to a VPN, my /etc/resolv.conf is updated to the
following:

    nameserver 127.0.0.53
    search mycompanysdomain.org myvpnprovider.org

>From that point on, I can no longer access anything in
*.mycompanysdomain.org.

If I change the second line in /etc/resolv.conf to read:

    search myvpnprovider.org

Then everything seems to resolve.

Questions:

- Should that change be applied to /etc/resolv.conf automatically by
some tool?

- Is it possible to change anything in the openvpn configuration or my
normal network configuration so that the change to /etc/resolv.conf is
applied automatically when I connect?
