That said, if you maximize a window then there is a reasonable argument that the status of "maximized" should stay true no matter the resolution of the output, and especially since they are so similar in resolution. It's a matter of opinion as to whether a maximized window should retain its maximized status when it's also forced to resize to fit the new resolution.
So... 1. Please report the bug to the Gnome people and see what they say. If they agree to keep it open then we will too: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues 2. As a workaround, try: (a) Keeping the window smaller; or (b) Keeping the window full screen (F11); or (c) Simulate the Nvidia case by logging into "Ubuntu" instead of "Ubuntu on Wayland". ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786579 Title: If I change inputs or turn off my TV, my windows will change positions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1786579/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
