Ran into the exact same error. What I noticed is that manually moving
the extensions out of ./extensions didn't do anything (though I didn't
reboot; just switch between tty's), but after I logged in via tty3 and
manually mounted my ecryptfs homedir, I was able to login normally
through tty1.

I'll do a fresh reboot and move them out of ./extensions one-by-one and
