The stack trace is a little different. It will be interesting to see if we have anything like the same quantity of this crash as bug 1877075.
I think crashes like this can still happen if a graphics driver or gnome-shell extension is making Xlib calls from a thread. We won't get away from that until/unless we find the offending thread. And the offending call might have happened a little earlier than the actual crash (which seems to be in the correct main thread).
