The issue is fixed with 3.42 in the current Ubuntu serie, I'm working on backporting the change to impish, later series will also need to be fixed

I found the upstream bug report for this[0], which references the commit[1] that fixes it. However, that commit is in release 3.42.0, whereas Ubuntu 21.10 currently has 3.40.4-1.
