Gunnar, on Friday, Seb fixed gnome-control-center to work with the new gnome-remote-desktop using VNC like was done in previous Ubuntu/GNOME releases.
However, we think that our users will be more comfortable using RDP. The documentation you pointed to doesn't document VNC well. The GNOME feature we are backporting would make that page out of date. - Screen Sharing is now Remote Desktop - For #7, there is now a Remote Control on/off switch - There is no require a password or ask for access. We also could document remote desktop using Discourse. Except for the translation problem, that is a faster way to provide Ubuntu-specific docs. Marco was looking today at also allowing users to switch to VNC with this dialog as an Ubuntu patch. If we are able to do that, we think that fixes the main regression risk here. If we don't provide this dialog, there really isn't a user-friendly for people to be able to share their desktop using RDP at all. That is a requested feature. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968518 Title: FFe: Backport new RDP settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1968518/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
