Neither the overview nor xscreensaver can work without grabs. So whoever holds them first will win. I suspect this will never be fixable.
Note also that: 1. This will probably only ever be a problem in X11 with xscreensaver. 2. xscreensaver is no longer supported in Ubuntu. 3. GNOME has a built-in screensaver that will turn off the screen. It's probably a better idea to use that. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1981043 Title: xscreensaver never act when desktop is in "activities overview" mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1981043/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
