Public bug reported: The alert sound feature is broken. See https://launchpad.net/bugs/1987160
The sound theme feature got worse in 43. In 43, GNOME changed their alert sounds. The alert sounds are provided directly and not as actual sound themes. I think the following bug was caused by an attempt to migrate users to the new alert sounds. I've reported this issue to GNOME. The chosen alert sound doesn't persist in the viewer. I'm filing this as a separate bug because this is a separate upstream issue than the other alert sound bug. ** Affects: gnome-control-center Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Triaged ** Tags: kinetic ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues #2026 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/2026 ** Also affects: gnome-control-center via https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/2026 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1987161 Title: 43: switching alert sounds doesn't persist after closing and reopening the app To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1987161/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
