Public bug reported: This is on 'debian release' upgraded from Mantic to Noble, which I keep persistent to test the Noble Upgrades from day-to-day.
Intermittent crashes, which results in the desktops crashing and returning back to the GDM3 graphical login. I am not sure if, since a VM, and Spice, if it is a KVM host problem, or if a Noble problem. The host is 22.04.3: >>> kvm --version QEMU emulator version 6.2.0 (Debian 1:6.2+dfsg-2ubuntu6.15) Copyright (c) 2003-2021 Fabrice Bellard and the QEMU Project developers virsh -c qemu:///system version --daemon Compiled against library: libvirt 8.0.0 Using library: libvirt 8.0.0 Using API: QEMU 8.0.0 Running hypervisor: QEMU 6.2.0 Running against daemon: 8.0.0 >>> Attaching crash report below ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: spice-vdagent 0.22.1-3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.5.0-9.9-generic 6.5.3 Uname: Linux 6.5.0-9-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.27.0-0ubuntu6 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Tue Nov 7 12:25:52 2023 InstallationDate: Installed on 2023-10-25 (13 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 23.10.1 "Mantic Minotaur" - Release amd64 (20231016.1) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> SourcePackage: spice-vdagent UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: spice-vdagent (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug noble third-party-packages ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_spice-vdagent.1000.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2042979/+attachment/5717048/+files/_usr_bin_spice-vdagent.1000.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to spice-vdagent in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2042979 Title: Noble spice-vdagent crash crashes xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/spice-vdagent/+bug/2042979/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
