Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 24.04 on my work laptop (not company-provided). I
face a random error (maybe once in every two days or so) which goes like
this: The screen is locked (either auto-lock due to inactivity or I
would have locked it) > I try to login > There is no error message but
just the login screen reappears. No matter how many times I try, I am
not logged in but the same lock screen is displayed. Restarting the
system is the only thing that gets me back in.
