Update: I was able to log in successfully via GDM3 by selecting the
"Ubuntu" session. The "Default Xsession" failure appears to be expected
since GNOME 49 no longer ships an X11 session — the journal shows it
trying to start [email protected] which doesn't exist.
From my side this is resolved; feel free to close the report as
appropriate. Thanks for your help.
