Shouldn't be a problem. If you're paranoid, add mem=16G to GRUB.

I meant whether it still crashes if you navigate fast while forcing
software rendering via GSK_RENDERER=cairo.

Can you write a script to create a directory tree to test with? I tested
in ~/Android and got no crash. I also have thumbnails and localsearch
off, so I'll test in another user account.
