Public bug reported:

**"Nautilus list view inline expansion: ghost files remain in source
folder after drag-and-drop move; Ctrl+Z causes duplicates in
destination"**

**Package:** nautilus

**1) Ubuntu release:**
Description: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS / Release: 26.04

**2) Package version:**
Installed: 1:50.0-0ubuntu2

**3) What you expected to happen:**
After dragging and dropping files from one subfolder to another in list view
with both folders expanded inline (chevron/tree view), the source folder should
immediately show the files as gone. The view should reflect the actual
filesystem state without requiring a manual refresh.

**4) What happened instead:**
Two related bugs occur:

**Bug 1a — Ghost files in source folder:** After a drag-and-drop move,
the moved files remain visible in the source folder's inline tree view.
Both the source and destination appear to contain the same files
simultaneously. The filesystem is correct — navigating into the source
folder by double-clicking confirms it is actually empty. Pressing F5 or
collapsing/re-expanding the chevron fixes the display.

**Bug 1b — Ctrl+Z causes duplicates in destination:** After pressing
Ctrl+Z to undo the move, every file appears twice in the destination
folder's inline tree view. No actual duplication exists on disk — only
the display is wrong.

Workaround: pressing F5 or collapsing/re-expanding the folder chevron
corrects the display. Bug is display-only — no data loss occurs.

Screenshots and screen recording attached.
