Public bug reported: Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS (GNOME, Wayland session) Package version: mutter 50.1-0ubuntu2.4
Expected: Using a pen tablet (Huion Inspiroy H580X, in-kernel hid- uclogic driver), the pen should work continuously in applications, the same as it does in GNOME Settings > Graphics Tablets > Test Settings. What happened instead: In Blender's sculpt mode, the pen works for one stroke, then input from the pen is lost: the app's cursor freezes, and the pen shows as a separate cross cursor. Lifting the pen and returning gives inconsistent results. A mouse works normally throughout. Blender developers identified the related two-cursor problem as a mutter bug, fixed upstream in 50.3: - Blender issue: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/160859 - Upstream merge request: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/5126 - Commit: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/commit/8cb2bce89596c27b3817702065c08885d28d9fbb My own Blender report with full details: https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/165101 Ubuntu 26.04 is on mutter 50.1, which doesn't include this fix. Please consider backporting it to 26.04 as a Stable Release Update. System details: - Hardware: Lenovo LOQ 16IRH8, 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H, 16 GB RAM - Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop GPU (hybrid graphics with Intel integrated), NVIDIA driver 595.84 - Displays: three (laptop plus two external monitors) with different scaling per display; tablet mapped to one external monitor via GNOME Settings > Graphics Tablets - Blender 5.2.2 (snap, latest/stable) - All available updates installed. ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170728 Title: Please backport mutter 50.3 tablet pen cursor fix to 26.04 (pen input lost in apps) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2170728/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
