Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Hi, in response to:-

# These are the standard aliases for devices and kernel drivers.
# This file does not need to be modified.
#
# Please file a bug against module-init-tools if a package needs a entry
# in this file.

As a result of searching from

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=716031

it seems, so far, that the following entry in etc/modprobe.d/aliases is
the only way for Ubuntu to recognise my card

#TV Card

alias char-major-89 i2c-dev

alias char-major-81 bttv

options bttv card=37 tuner=5 radio=1
