So, I have been doing some testing.  I don't think it has anything to
do with totem anymore.  I have seen the same behavior when running
screensavers, games and other times when there is some graphics work
being done.  I now think it is either my X configuration, the video
card drivers or maybe the card itself.

I am using linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-16-386 and  nvidia-glx-new
(same thing happens with nvidia-glx).

I am attaching my xorg.conf and my X log file if anyone can can see
anything wrong with it.

I recently added BusID "PCI;1:0:0" to the file and that has made a
difference.  It doesn't happen as frequently anymore but playing
frozen-bubble or running any screensaver will still cause the same
behavior.
