yes I did. I customized my box because there are a lot of components (installed by the metapackage ubuntu-desktop) I never use. Anyway I was able to remove libgnomevfs2-extra with gnome-applets still installed. However, this seems not to be good and libgnomevfs2-extra should be a needed package for gweather.
