Public bug reported: I've upgraded my system from Feisty to Gutsy and installed GNOME at the same time. Gnome session started, but with an error about gnome-settings-daemon crashing. I started that daemon manually from a terminal application, but on next login the same error occured. It said it can't connect to a dbus socket (in /tmp/...).
As it turned out today, the problem was fixed by installing dbus-x11. But gnome-session does not depend on this package - WHY? Solution: add a dependency on dbus-x11 to gnome-session ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gnome-session should depend on dbus-x11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-session in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
