Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Attempt to use update manager. The following message is displayed.
 E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to
correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
The same message is displayed when attempting to use synaptics package manager.

Opened the terminal and tried to run "dpkg etc and it then states it is only
available for a superuser. What/who is that?
Cheers. Graeme.
