Hi, Overhere [1] are the versions of external dependencies listed. I'm guessing that the minimum version should be the one present in jhbuild. This way it can be checked if all the software builds with the minimum version.
But for instance cairo has a minimum version of 1.2.2 at [1] but in jhbuild version 1.4.6 is build. (Which is also not the recommended version at [1]) I also think that some of the minimum versions of some external modules are quite old (E.g. avahi, dbus-glib have had already several new releases including numerous bugfixes ) and make building other non core GNOME modules e.g. telepathy-glib and vinagre not possible without changing the moduleset locally.
