Hi, I was thinking how to make sure we don't have a real issue with gsettings and gconf at the same time for 2.32, and after some discussion, it seems a simple solution would be to just not ship gsettings-desktop-schemas as part of GNOME 2.32. This means GNOME 2.32 would have no shared gsettings keys -- only keys specific to each application.
Is this possibly creating an issue for some people? There's another solution, that we might want to have anyway for 3.0, since there will be external applications still using gconf when we go 3.0 (and therefore we'll have to still write to the shared gconf keys somehow): create a g-s-d module that synchronizes the gconf and gsettings values. Opinions?
