I'm deploying a JDK 1.6 based application on Open solaris build snv_91 and
running into issues with opening Internal frame child windows. This application
is presently deployed on Solaris 10 u4 and does not have problems related to
opening of internal frames.

The basic problem is: Opening a child window( Internal Frame) does not bring
the window on top. The child window only opens and stays behind the parent
window and does not gain focus.

What could be reason for the child window behavior?

Secondly: Intermittently, I get horizontal and vertial grid like lines on
internal frames while switching back and forth between different frames.

My question regarding these issues, is how can I start debugging this java
application on OpenSolaris. Are these window manager metacity-JDK1.6 issues?

Specifically, since application frames work fine on Solaris10u4 based
installation, could these problems due to integration problems between
gnome-metacity on snv-91 and beyond? Are there any documented bugs related to
windowing focus issues.

Any pointers on resolving these problems would be greatly appreciated.
