I've never tested this feature before, so I didn't recognize that it points to ttf file which does not exists on OpenSolaris/Solaris.
It's not VLC 0.8.6i but I've just uploaded VLC 0.9.2 (which is based on qt4) for OpenSolaris 2008.05 and it fixes this issue. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
