I'm really happy to hear that KDE on Solaris is coming along. I think
it is great for users to have choice.

Looks really good.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Is it possible to build
the latest & greatst KDE using spec-files in spec-files-extra?

If you guys would like some help on how to approach ARC, and how to
best put together your materials for least pain, then feel free to
touch base with me. It might make most sense to touch base off-line
or arrange a phone meeting rather than clutter the mail list.

As I said, I was very involved with how we made ARC'ing GNOME
manageable, so I would be happy to share tips and tricks with you.

Overall, one area where there could be more improvement would be
for KDE and GNOME to better follow common FreeDesktop specifications.
While there is some success in this area (e.g. desktop file and
MIME support), there is still a lot of needless duplication of
functionality in GNOME and KDE. Examples include configuration
management, virtual file systems, accessibility, etc.). While
not necessary a blocker for ARC, it would make the ARC process more
simple if more progress were made in this area. The more common
base-functionality, the less you have to ARC for each desktop.
