Updated for VideoLan 0.8.6e ---------------------------------- This weekend a few people started reviewing VideoLan again for an updated port so I took the plung on Sunday to see just where we were. I started with VideoLan 0.8.6e. Philip Brown (at Blastwave) had asked about VideoLan a few years ago and a maintainer at Blastwave had ported VideoLan 0.7.2. Brian Cameron wrote a SPEC file for VideoLan 0.8.6c which a few people are using now for compilation. So, I decided to start there for this spin:
1. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-sources.html 2. Get SPEC file at http://pkgbuild.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pkgbuild/spec-files-extra/trunk/encumbered/SFEvlc.spec?view=log {Brian Cameron} 3. Update to FFMpeg 0.4.9pre. 4. Review dependences and features I wanted. There are some things I wanted to address dealing with the patches and tweaks so you can get a clean compile. Some issues deal with libmpeg and the Skins2 directory. My port enabled libmpeg but if you use the SPEC file, it will disable it by default. This Solaris port is intended to do everything (i.e. featurewise) the linux port does - but integrated for Solaris. Still work to do dealing with cross platform performance on the Solaris 8->10 OS releases. ~ Ken Mays This message posted from opensolaris.org
