Hmm , I created a new account and moved my datafiles across to the new account, preserving all the ACL's I did not copy the GNOME configuration files and let them all be recreated. After this the gnome-apperance-properties work a lot better and I have been able to activate and deactivate Compiz. One reason could be that earlier versions of Compiz had been installed on the account and that the Gnome config files vere "contaminated" . This happened because I preserve my /export/home filesystems when I install a new Nevada Build. //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org
