gdm just happens to be the one we have that fits the bill, since it comes
with GNOME.   Brian Cameron has had to do a lot of work on it to bring gdm
up to the point where it can become the default display manager.

But dtlogin is encumbered, so could only be in Solaris itself, and every
other OpenSolaris distro would have to find something else anyway.
