Thanks for that information - given the various views that people have 
of the desktop, of course it's likely that I missed things - I'm only 
one person after all ;) - but that's why it's been made public, to 
figure out what I may have missed.

W.r.t. the specific feature you mention, AFAIK there is a project in the 
pipeline that is going to improve on the PCFS driver - the handling of 
non-ASCII character sets is part of this - I've no timelines on this, 
but it is something we are aware of.
