Well, for me setting ahci:ahci_msi_enabled=0 in /etc/system allowed booting multi-user, but failsafe still stalls (perhaps for the same reason? I imagine that there is a different file to set this in for failsafe operation).
Unfortunately, multiuser is not very stable. I applied the suggestion for the SUNWxwfnt and non-empty font directories issue. One thing I noticed, and also verified on snv_107, is that my ethernet adapter comes up finally lowspeed after flicker several times at 1G. NWAM does take its time to configure. BTW for the MCP78S chipset, I needed to set nge "pci10de,760" in /etc/driver_aliases. I'll see if I can get any more pertinent causes. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
