[desktop-discuss] upgrading 2008.11, other packages

Hello,

I am running 2008.11, and I am considering upgrading to a 
later build, say 110.
The problem is that I also have a few non-IPS packages 
installed.  For example, Qt 4 from SFE. This is an SVR4 
package that installs into /usr.

If I upgrade to a later build using ''pkg image-update''

1. Will the old (saved) boot environment contain my non-IPS 
packages, or will they be lost?
2. Will the new boot environment contain them, or will I 
need to re-install them?
