Some update:
As I did not mention it at first, the part about the grub menu entry in
the article does not work if you only want nevada / opensolaris coexist
in the same root zpool. It's easy to solve though.

I'm still very happy to have some nevada builds coexist with
opensolaris. I must say I'm in opensolaris most of the time.
It's a little nicer, smoother, better in most things.
It's more coherent. The past few days convinced me.
Still, there are some caveats...
[1] As I already mentioned in another message I don't like the TTF
collection that is delivered w/ opensolaris. It's too small. I -DO- hope
some pkg will be made available in the "extra" IPS repository. The ssl
cert is easy to get. VirtualBox is in it too, so..
[2] Another thing that is annoying at times is the fact that you often
have to add pkg's you don't have (yet). I.e. I use the CBE much.
Building SFE packages often gives me warnings I don't have some SUNWpkg
installed (yet). Visit the repo again and again and again.. It would be
nice to have the choice of some "xxxx" clusters in stead of finding
every needed package yourself. But this is 'personal taste'. Once the
system is in order this thing is ver. And, IPS is wonderful. Although:
[3] I don't understand the precise function of some repo's. //dev ;
//extra ; //contrib speak for themselves, -BUT- the "contrib" repo has
pkgs that don't work on opensolaris. That should not be the case imho.
They should be chacked more.
[4] One other thing that I'm not quite happy with is the forced
existance of IPS packages and SVR4 ones. I.e. VirtualBox has an older
version in "extra" so you have to install the SVR4 pkg if you want the
latest. The same goes for flash. Only flash9 is in the repo, while
flash10 came out some time ago. Small things really, but things to take
into account.

Conclusion so far: I won't go back to Nevada. Opensolaris is better,
nicer, more coherent, more futuristic, faster and has fewer glitches.
It feels like it's been take care of with more love by its maintainers.

It differs enough that it makes me ask questions again. What newsgroup
is the best for general opensolaris questions by the way?
TTYL.
