Bernd, I noticed this as well - I downloaded a more recent version and it works fine (I'm not sure if any are available outside Sun).
Note: There is no uninstall, so you have to pkgrm all the staroffice 9 and openoffice pkgs. If you can I'd recommend waiting until it's officially released, which I believe will be Nov.
