Hi Pat,

It is a missing feature of Adobe Flashplayer 9 on Linux/Solaris.
It is called windowless mode, or WMODE.

The feature was added in Flashplayer 10 for Linux/Solaris.
You can download the beta version of Flashplayer 10 for Solaris at
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
