Yes. If you look under the System->Preferences menu, you see a "Search and Indexing" menu item. Click on that and it starts up the Tracker Preferences. Click on the Performance tab and you'll see the default Indexing Speed is set to 0 "Fastest". Slide it to suit your needs. Why 0 is the default value is beyond me.
