It should. I have no gawk installed in /usr/gnu/bin and it does come
before /usr/bin in my PATH.

I just installed SFEgawk.spec and now SFEmplayer compiles OK without
the chances in the spec file about vidix.
Someone should add this "buildrequires" thing.
