Isn't it described in the installation guide?
I have /opt/SUNWspro/installer/uninstall_Sun_Studio_11.class
{this is for SS12; the location may vary for SS11}
# cd /opt/SUNWpro/installer
# java uninstall_Sun_Studio_11
or something like that should do the trick

In any case, you can install SS12, even if there is another release of
studio. Just choose another directory with the newer CBE, you can
choose the compiler you want. Make sure to run the install file from a
root window on your desktop.
