My experience with the browser is different. I hardly ever willfully
exit the browser. Under Solaris the browser typically decides to exit
all by itself and a huge file named 'core' appears in my home
directory. Today the browser has been running for 10 days straight,
which must be some kind of record. The automatic exit occurs with the
supposedly "supported" version of Firefox. How will a "locked"
checkbox help that?

Firefox does at least compain by default if you attempt to close a
browser window which is using multiple tabs.
