I second that. teTeX 3.0 has not only been unsupported for two
years now, but it was initially released in February 2005 and its
components are from 2004 or even older and severly lack in terms
of Unicode support and support for European formats (e.g.
improvements in more recent versions of KOMA-Script).
TeXLive is now the only comprehensive TeX/LaTeX-distribution for
Unix/Linux. Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, and OpenBSD have already
switched, FreeBSD and NetBSD are in the process of doing so.

For those who want to use it right now, the distribution includes
binary builds for Solaris i386 and sparc which can be installed
over the net, see http://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire.html .

For those interested in integrating TeXLive into Nevada, here are
some notes on building and packaging TeXLive on OpenBSD, Fedora,
and Debian:

http://tug.org/texlive/build.html
http://students.dec.bmth.ac.uk/ebarrett/texlive/2007/guide/
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/FeatureTexLive
http://www.tug.org/texlive/debian.html
http://pkg-tetex.alioth.debian.org/

IMHO the integration of TeXLive would benefit the promotion of
OpenSolaris in an academic environment.
