It has so many de facto standards which have been used in development and makes the efforts to port projects to Studio hard. As we go along the OpenSolaris road and contrib repository is about to available, it's highly possible that two lines of development will emerge as I see. One is still with Studio and another go with gcc.
For C++ based projects, the situation is even worse. I'd hope that the ARC 2008/549 (http://opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/caselog/2008/549/) could partly easy the porting of C++ projects. -Alfred
