As I wrote in: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=4908 When running "alacarte", the "Developer Tools" menu is disabled. I click its box to enable it, and quit "alacarte". The menu still doesn't show up in the "Applications" menu. Only after I "pkill -HUP gnome-panel" does the menu item show up. I would expect changes through "alacarte" to show up as I make the changes, without an extra step to kill random processes on the system after the fact... -Seb
