So far with Beta3, RC2, and RC3 on Windows XP, WIndows Vista, Mac OS X it is faster than Opera and almost every other browser.
These are the browsers tested: IE6, IE7, Opera 9.23, Opera 9.5, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Safari 3.1.1, OmniWeb 5.7, Camino SVN (Nightly) and "Stable" are tested. I'm not so great with graphs but I can put the full URL's up to each browser test and maybe someone can make a shiny graph I can post on my website. Hardware is 15.4" MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2, 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 8600 GT, 160GB 5400RPM SATA2. I'm currently messing around with OpenSolaris on this hardware, and unfortunately there's a big issue with heat, running about 78C according to the NVIDIA program for the GPU, which is probably what the CPU is around as well. The Atheros 5416 and SK drivers are not bundled with any OpenSolaris release but I'll install the drivers and do the tests. Software versions: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista (32-bit), WIndows Vista (64-bit), Windows Vista SP1 (32-bit), Windows Vista SP1 (64-bit), OpenSolaris B90 (64-bit) I would do a Linux benchmark as well if there was more people demanding it, but for the moment I have enough configurations to maintain. All browsers are 32-bit except IE7 on Vista x64. I can rerun all except the OS X specific tests (Opera, Firefox, and Safari) on my Ultra 20 M2, which with benchmarks such as PCMark 06 and 3DMark 05 are comparable to my MacBook Pro incase there's a question of quality for these tests. My Ultra 20 M2 is a factory "large" configuration, and you can look at the specifications by visiting http://www.sun.com/desktop/workstation/ultra20/index.xml If you'd like for me to work on running the tests on my workstation I can do so by request. This may be a good way of comparing a higher clocked Opteron to a lower clock Intel, both Dual Core. From my findings, despite being a faster clock, the Intel beats the AMD in most tests. Thanks!
